The wording of my logo is to state the bands name, which in this case is 'The Moles'. Below are examples of the font I have thought about using. The font colour is to be a dark colour, to stand out against the light background. I want to use a bold font, and a different style of writing.
The one I most prefer, is the third one as it stands out and has a professional logo look. This is a little more unique and will fit in well with the genre and also fits in with the 80's inspirations for my video.

.....................................................................................
To try and research qualitative data for my music video, I found the age range of the target audience was 17 - 21 and so i gathered a group of 5 people within this age range to talk to. The question I asked was:
'What conventions would you like to see in an Indie pop video?'
The overall group responses were such comments as:
- "I prefer to see meat shots and a quick pace including something that will shock yet excite me" - Emily
- "I prefer to see Instruments and Musicians shown frequently" - Nick
- "I enjoy to see a lot of Performance from the musicians, and scenery that involves cities and nature." - Alan
- "I like to see nature scenes such as woodland and beaches and performance involved" - Gary
- "I like to see a lot of performance and meat shots of the artist and distinct costumes" - Sally
From the comments received in this discussion I intend to show an element of excitement and shock with continuous shots within my video, involving the artist.
Assessment 2 - Genre and convention research
Oasis are known as the original indie pop band even if they are these days classed as being brit pop. Their videos are very plain and simple with just a few unexplained elements to them. Its also in places narrative and follows the picture follows the lyrics at points.
By the time pulp released this video in the late 1990's the indie pop scene had taken off. More money was available for the creation of videos. They still used the simplistic technique however, more effects were used and more shots were created to make the video more of a masterpiece.
At the beginning of the noughties the arctic monkeys became the new indie pop band to beat. They became an iconic indie band and their videos have displayed various different techniques from the previous videos within the genre. This video has a story and in places fits the narrative. The lighting is also very dark, fitting with the mood of the song.
The latest indie pop video that has relevance i feel is this Biffy Clyro one. It in places follows the narrative but also in places makes no sense. The pictures occasionally follow the lyrics and the lighting fits the mood of the genre. The scenery and the way the camera is used also interlink with the lyrics which is a main feature of the indie pop genre that i am going to try and use in my own music video.

Message: Sir/Madam,
I am enquiring about the rights to use a song produced by your record company.
I am wanting to use the song 'Somebody Told Me' by 'The Killers' in my A2 Media Music Video.
I am a student at Hartlepool Sixth Form College, Brinkburn in the Northeast of England. I am planning on using this song to enhance my coursework as I felt it was the most appropriate song to do so. It would be much appreciated if you allowed this to happen and it would mean me being able to complete my coursework without any problems.
Thankyou,
Kevin Ghassemi

Green Screen tutorial - final cut
This is the original image that was captured before the green screen was removed.
This is a screengrab of the full final cut set up with the original image in place. You can see each area and what each area is used for.
On this screengrab you can how the image is put in place within the video. After everytime you do something new to the video you have to render it for it to work. As you can see to render the video you simply click on 'sequence' then on 'render' then on 'both'.
This screengrab shows the steps taken to remove the green from the green screen background in order to place a new background behind the original image. You simply click on 'effects' then on 'video filters' then on 'key' then on 'chroma key' in order to do this. You will then be given a colour palette in which you have to move up and down in order to remove the green. You keep moving each section of the colour pallette until all of the green has disappeared.
This is a screengrab of what I was left with after removing the greenscreen background. You can see just the original image in the centre of the screengrab and this image is now ready to be put with a new background, a sound or with another image to create a video.

9 shot task
The video starts with an opening shot of the lead singer, so the star image, using a meat shot. The camera is zoomed in at a medium close up and the lighting ambient natural light.
4 seconds
The next significant shot is the point of view shot. Again natural ambient lighting is used but a different member of the band is now seen looking down on the lead singer.
38 seconds
Another significant shot is this long shot of the band. It is shown from the side whilst the band face forward. The lighting is dark and the scene is underground, It creates a sort of mystery to go with the lyrics that are being sung.
44 seconds
This is a two shot of two members of the band. The lead singer is looking at the camera whilst the guitarist is looking away. The lighting on the lead singer is also more natural and ambient whilst the lighting on the guitarist is a lot darker.
1 minute, 10 seconds
This medium shot shows two members of the band holding down the lead singer on a table. This creates an uneasy feeling and is part of the confusion created in the overall video. The lighting is dark as is the mise en scene helping to create suspense.
1 minute, 31 seconds
This is a medium shot of a member of the band in the shower. He has clothes on the bottom part of his body which shows something different to the status quo of real life. Half of the background behind him is completely black whereas the other half is a green colour with different pieces of mise en scene on the walls.
1 minute 47 seconds
This is a long shot showing the band through a doorway. It could be seen as a point of view shot and that the viewer is watching in on the band whilst the band is unaware.
2 minutes, 29 seconds
This is a close up shot of the lead singer of the band. The lighting is brighter on his face making his expression stand out helping to explain the lyrics being sang.
2 minutes, 44 seconds
The final shot is a meat shot of the band as a whole playing the song out. Again the lighting is bright whilst on the band signifying the importance of them.
3 minutes, 25 seconds

Shot count - Billionaire - Travis Mccoy
126 Shots used in this video.
Many meat shots are used to help distinguish the start image and advertise both Travis Mccoy and Bruno Mars.
The pace changes throughout. At the slower parts the editing is slow and the faster part the pace speeds up. It is a very chilled and relaxed song and this is shown through the editing.
The shot types also change throughout. The main bulk of shot types used are meat shots, long shots, close ups, tracking shots and two shots.
The relationship between the music, lyrics and visuals are all connected through the different editing techniques used. Also the camera shots show some of the lyrics that are being said but are not specifically stuck to word by word. This video uses amplification.
